1st Family Unlimited Long Distance Disclaimer.
Residential Unlimited Long Distance is intended for residential usage. If you are going to use this service because you are a business you require the Unlimited Business Product. If you are a business running out of your home, you truly should be directed to the Unlimited Business Product. However, if you would prefer the Residential Unlimited Product, you must be willing to use common sense in the usage of a residential calling package. If you use the residential calling plan and you are truly using the service for business calling, you are subject to certain restrictions because the residential calling plan is actually intended for residential customers. If you are calling all day long 6 or 7 days per week nearly all day long but it is strictly to call your friends and family about non-business matters, then, the Unlimited residential calling plan is appropriate for you to use. If, however, you purchase the Residential calling plan, but you are calling people to sell them a product, service or business opportunity, then, you are actually using the Unlimited Residential plan inappropriately and you must be prepared to be moved to the business calling plans, have your rate increased or both.
You must also understand that these services are provided for you and that there may be times when your call cannot go through due to the high volume of calls on the system at some particular times of day or night, that these times and dates are variable and cannot be predicted. You must be willing to accept that the quality of the calls may vary. You must be willing to accept that some calls may be blocked. You must be willing to accept that at times the service may be down due to technical problems beyond our control or the control of our upstream providers. For this reason, you should be prepared to have a backup long distance company for emergency phone calls that may need to take place while our system is down. We recommend for your backup long distance company a calling plan that is 4 or 5 cents per minute, the absolute lowest priced service you can find and one that has NO MONTHLY fee, due to the fact that you may never use it in any given month.
When you are provided a LOCAL Access Number for Internet Service or Long Distance, you understand that we are not liable for phone charges if the local number we believe to be Toll Free turns out not to be toll free.
It is the customers responsibility to check and verify. 1st Family will
not be liable for charged incurred from local access numbers. Every phone co. in every state charges differently for different services, they change their billing policies, and calling areas constantly, and we cannot be held responsible. Therefore you understand that it is your responsibility to make sure that a local phone number is NOT going to be costing you for usage. You understand that this can only be certain if you call your local phone company and verify this with them. In instances where you are billed for local calls, 1st family will not reimburse you. You understand this. You agree to this. You agree that it is your responsibility to look up and verify the local phone number we give you will not be charged on your telephone bill.
You must be willing not to send faxes, although the system may accept faxing occasionally, use an electronic device on the calls, use it for Internet Access or excessively long duration calls such as conference calls and party line calls. You must not use this service for any illegal activities. You must not abuse the service so that the upstream carriers will stay in business and we can continue to save you lots of money.
All of our services are PRE-PAID. This is done to save our customers money. If customers don't prepay for service, it must be priced higher. Therefore, the many customers who prepay properly are satisfied because they save money. Those who try to thwart the system cost us money and our prices again would have to go up if we experienced too many problem accounts. Therefore, you must also accept our billing practices that are designed to minimize confusion. Towit that there is a billing date where money is taken from the credit card or debit card or bank account you specified when you enrolled, approximately 10 days Prior to your actual 30 days of service. This grace period must be allowed for 1st Family to bill all our customers and have time for declined credit cards, changed credit card numbers, etc. Credit cards that are accepted result in the continuation of the service. Credit cards that are declined will have service the next cycle, but will continue to complete their paid current 30 day cycle. This means that if you wish to cancel your service, you must cancel PRIOR to the BILLING DATE for the next month, otherwise you have cancelled too late and will have prepaid for the following month. In all cases where we can make an exception to this rule, we will do so, however, if we have provided you with the service, there are no exceptions and no refund will be granted. In the pre-paid business, whether you use a product for one minute or for an entire month of calling makes no difference to us. We will have paid for you and there are no refunds to us and therefore there are no refunds to you. You must be willing to accept this. Again, exceptions can be made if you cancel after your billing date, but days prior to your receiving your next month's service. These exceptions are handled on a case by case basis. Your best presentation to us when you cancel is to write down the name of the customer service rep you talked to when cancelling and the date.
For obvious reasons we also require that you call us or leave a message on our voicemail or send a written signed letter to 1st Family in order to cancel. If you leave a voicemail for cancellation, you must leave the phone number and billing information we have on file for you to prevent someone calling to cancel your account who is not you. Cancellations are not accepted by email, fax, or any other means of communication since we cannot guarantee the identity of the person cancelling your account.
